Notes:
 

He was my mother's (Mom’s) father.
He was married to My Grandmother ( Ouma)
I didn't know who my grandfather's parents were, but we obtained a copy of he's death notice from the National Archives of South-Africa.

Acid-free Ledger paper, Blue Rick Rack, blue Gel pen, Card-stock, circle punch, Corner rounder or nail-clippers, Ink Pads, photo-corners, "Forever in time" Paper flowers and black Brads, Wausau® Exact® Pastels Pastel-Colored Paper used or journaling, etc.

I have also made a layout of my grandfather (Timeless)
There are family trees, a family crest and more information in the page pocket

Journaling:

I was a teenager in the seventies. My mother sewed fashionable clothes for us like midis, maxis, minis and hot pants. I even had a pair of wet look boots. I had a peace ring, but I unfortunately lost it. Our minis were so short, we had to know how to sit down and bend down in them.

Scrapbooking Projects

I recently bought the book Scrapbooking Projects by Bay Books, which I can recommend to all scrapbookers.

The book has 12 sheets of acid free stencils and templates inside.

Besides beautiful full color details, techniques and some lovely layouts, the book has given me some good ideas.

I like the idea of calling your craft-room a Studio.

Another good idea that I got from the book is to use a disc with a hole in it, as a spacer for drawing a mat around a photo.

Whilst searching for discs at the shops, I bought a Spirograph, do you remember them ?

With it I can make flowers, backgrounds, etc.

The book also advises us to publish our work on sites like Scrapbook.com, Creating Keepsakes, on Blogs, in magazines, etc.

I think the feedback will motivate me.

What do you think, should I ?

Now I'm off to play with my new found toy.

I recently read “Chicken Soup for the Scrapbooker's Soul: Stories to Remember . . . by Jack Canfield, Mark Victor Hansen, Allison Connors and Debbie Haas

If you have read any of the “Chicken Soup” series of books, you will love this book. I found it inspiring, you laugh one moment and cry the next. It is beautifully illustrated, it will motivate you and explain why we scrapbook.

I found the book "Painted Scrapbook Pages" by Mylinda van Zee very inspiring.
She also has a motivating Blog and website.

I found some interesting ideas to make background papers and clever hints.
The book is easy to read and well illustrated. The materials used are mostly inexpensive.
I tried the design concept " magic of three", painted some card-stock and it worked well.

Put card-stock over Plastic canvas, secure with removable tape. Using an embossing tool, rub over the texture.

Journaling in Ballet-shoe: I was very fortunate that I was able to take ballet lessons since I was about 6 years old.

My first teachers were the Gardner Sisters who taught Royal Academy of dancing at the Masonic Hall, which was on the corner of First avenue and 7th street, in Springs.
We wore white tunics with a pink belt and black ballet shoes.
I still remember the day we bought my first pair of leather ballet shoes.
I still have my first pair of satin ballet shoes, which are in my My Memory Box.
