Paper Dolls

One of my favorite toys as a child were Paper dolls.

My mother who was a self taught artist made my first paper-dolls, I remember they were very beautiful, but unfortunately they didn't last long.

I am fortunate to have a few of my mother's paintings and photos of most.

 My dolls looked something like this painting by my mom.

Recently I tried to make some for my scrapbook pages, but they weren't that easy to make.

Notes: Most of the cards are the originals, which I got from my dad and I should replace with copies, fortunately I attached them with photo corners.
The photo of my grandmother, Circa 1919, is a copy, which I distressed, but I do have the original, which I got from my dad.
The postage stamps are originals, which I got from my father who is a stamp collector.

Scrapbooking Projects

I recently bought the book Scrapbooking Projects by Bay Books, which I can recommend to all scrapbookers.

The book has 12 sheets of acid free stencils and templates inside.

Besides beautiful full color details, techniques and some lovely layouts, the book has given me some good ideas.

I like the idea of calling your craft-room a Studio.

Another good idea that I got from the book is to use a disc with a hole in it, as a spacer for drawing a mat around a photo.

Whilst searching for discs at the shops, I bought a Spirograph, do you remember them ?

With it I can make flowers, backgrounds, etc.

The book also advises us to publish our work on sites like Scrapbook.com, Creating Keepsakes, on Blogs, in magazines, etc.

I think the feedback will motivate me.

Now I'm off to play with my new found toy.
